Privacy Notice

How we store and use your personal data:

Bradford Speaks and Toastmasters International takes your privacy very seriously. This notice explains how the we collect your personal data, how it is used, the conditions under which the data may be disclosed to others and how it’s kept secure.
We may collect your name, address, phone number and email, via our sign-in sheet, online email subscription and membership application. This information is used for a variety of club-related purposes, but mostly to keep you informed of local club and organisational news. The information will be retained for as long as you would like it to be, and you always have the right to ask us to remove any of the information from our records. We may also need payment information to process membership fees, which we will quickly dispose of after processing.

Storage of personal data

This information is stored digitally on cloud-based servers and will be used by different platforms such as general storage, email services and meeting management all of which are password protected and can only be accessed by the current executive members (members who organise the Bradford Speaks club).

Confidentiality

All current executive members have signed an Acceptable Use and Confidentiality agreement which includes keeping passwords protected and their own personal computers and devices secure to prevent inadvertent or deliberate access to any personal data.

Processing your personal data

We will never sell your data. Your information will not be deliberately shared with a third party for their marketing purposes.   Toastmasters International World Headquarters, which is located in the United States, will receive your information via the membership application. The club may use Listserv software (which helps to create an easy to use email recipient list) to organize our communications to you. The club vets these companies in advance to make sure they are compliant with the current laws and regulations, and to make sure they will use your information only for the stated purpose.

The accuracy of your information is important to us. Should your information change, or should you not want your information stored any longer, please reach out to admin@bradfordspeaks.co.uk You also may request to view your personal data we hold at any time.

Social Media

We use social media to promote events and to keep you informed of the activities of Bradford Speaks.  We do not store or process any personal data regarding your social media account(s) and we will rely on the privacy policies of the social media companies and/or your privacy settings when interacting with you online, for example, inviting you to join the closed Facebook group for the organisation.

Cookies

The site uses non-essential cookies to analyse performance of this website and display content from other content providers such as social media feeds.  These cookies are automatically disabled and you have to ‘ACCEPT’ them for the website to work as expected.   You can enable them at a later date if you wish.  Your web-browser settings can also be configured to ban cookies too giving you a greater level of confidentiality when using the internet.

Cookies collect anonymous information about your usage of the internet and can be used to profile adverts for you.  In some cases Cookie information and other personal information could be cross-referenced and lead to you being identifiable which becomes personal data. 

Statutory Rights

You have a choice about how and whether or not you wish to receive information from the club. Please select your choices by checking the relevant boxes on our GDPR Privacy Form (download, complete, print off, sign and hand in at your next meeting).  If you do not want to receive our updates about the club, organisation, or events, then check that box and the club won’t send you any non-essential communications. This policy and our practices do not affect your statutory rights.
